John 12th September 2021

Happy birthday Dot I can't believe it is five years to the day since we went to the Pavilion Iveston for your birthday lunch. Then we were looking forward to flying out to Ixia the next day for a week in the sun. It was a fantastic time which I will never forget, thank you. We did your sponsored walk last week which was tremendous and you must have looked after us once again as the weather was great. Once again we met in the Market place in Durham before going up to the Cathedral then down onto the riverbank. We walked around to the boathouse, up over Elvet bridge to Shire hall where you used to work, then down and over the baths bridge. We then walked all the way up to the Rose Tree pub at Shincliffe where we stopped for a refreshment. It was then back over to the other side of the river and back down into Durham and another drink in the boathouse. There were thirty seven of us including Michael, Olly, Alan, Debbie and Debra. Our Michael and Alison, Paul and Lynne and Neil and Joe were in fancy dress which was so funny. We had a great time and raised a glass to you in the boathouse while singing happy birthday to you. I have some great photos and will put a few on this site for you to look at. I am pleased with the garden this year although a few of your bushes are coming to an end. I think I damaged the roots of your pink flowered bush near the patio, while I was putting in some Michaelmas daisies which I got of our Michael. The big tomatoes aren't great and not many turnips and leeks grew. Never mind better luck next year. At least the pots came up lovely. Your Martin still keeps me informed what's going on in Australia and our Catherine has just returned from there permanently as I think she was getting fed up with the lock down restrictions over there. Our Anne, David and myself went down to the Stags for our tea on Thursday and our Catherine came up for a drink later. The meal was very nice and it's great when it's just down the road. Myself and Bobby are going to see Bad Manners tonight at the O2 arena at Newcastle tonight which I'm looking forward to. So I'm off out gallivanting once again pet. Well I think that's all the news I have for you at the minute and will catch up with you soon. I have your cards up and thinking about you all the time my love. Missing you every minute baby, all my love forever and ever and always, your loving husband John xxxxxxx💗💕💕💕
