John 7th December 2020

Hello Pet Well Christmas is nearly here. I think I am a bit in front of myself this year as I have the tree up and decorated lovely(as I praise myself). The reindeer's are out the front shining brightly and the wreaths are out. I just now need to write out the cards and get some presents in, although I have bought a few already. I have finally just sent in the sponsor money for the walk in September. I am a bit late with it but having that Covid illness knocked me back quite a few weeks. We raised £600,00 sponsor money and £270.00 with online donations, totaling £870.00 which wasn't bad as it was organised at the last minute due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Martin sent me an email a few months ago(which I haven't relied to yet!!) and I will have to send his and Catherine's card's to Australia off soon before the cut off date. They are still negotiating the Brexit deal but it has to be done by 31/12/20. Can you remember we were in the airport coming back from Corfu 2016 when we heard the result of the vote for coming out of Europe. It just seems like yesterday in some way, and a life time away in others. We are under lock-down again due to the Coronavirus. This came in again about November 3rd and all the pubs and shops were shut. The shops opened up again 02/12/20 but not the pubs. Boris is making an announcement on the 16th December and we will find out then if they are open for Christmas(keeping fingers crossed). But think of the money I have saved this year in all. I forgot to tell you our Mary and Kevin have rented their house out at Langley Moor and moved into their flat in Durham as the tenants in the flat moved out. They were just getting use to walking into Durham and enjoying the pubs and restaurants then the Covid lock-down has come into effect. I think I am going to our Anne and David's for Christmas dinner. Well I'll go now and leave you in peace now that you are up to date with the gossip. I miss you Dot more than words or songs can ever say every minute of the day. Happy Christmas Pet, lots of hugs and kisses forever and ever and always. Your loving husband John xxxxxxx
