On September 10th 2023 myself and my close friend Helen MacGregor are doing the Great North Run to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease in the loving memory of Dorothy Rochford - known to most as Dot.

Participating in the Great North Run has always been a dream of ours and after putting it off for so long we decided too apply, since meeting John we were in awe of his dedication of not only fundraising to help support this amazing association but also raising awareness of this disease. It's become a cause very close to all of our hearts and we wanted to help in any way we could.

There are so many great causes to raise money and awareness for, however this time, our first of many (hopefully) will be for MNDA. 

Dot was the beloved wife of one of our pub regulars John, who unfortunately passed away because of MND. John has been fundraising ever since in Dots memory to help the Association. We do not hear enough of this disease, although when we do its generally because a loved one has suffered or is suffering. We would like to give something back not only to MNDA but also John. 

All money raised helps towards the research and care for patients and their loved ones.
